2024 CADILLAC CT5

SCHEDULE A TEST DRIVE

Overview

For vehicle buyers on the lookout for a midsize luxury sedan, the eye-catching Cadillac CT5 is sure to grab attention. This Cadillac's reasonable price point combined with cutting-edge good looks and plenty of tech make the 2024 CT5 a substantial competitor against its German-engineered counterparts in the luxury sedan class and an even stronger rival for Japanese-built luxury sedans in the class. The CT5 is offered in three trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport. It is packed with a plethora of user-friendly tech and the fabled hands-free Super Cruise driving suite, touted as the comfortable and convenient first hands-free driver assistance technology.

Who's It For

Starting at under $45,000 Cadillac has positioned the 2024 CT5 to be one of the most affordable luxury sedans in its class, priced well below its German counterparts, while retaining its lavish appeal. The 2024 CT5 will appeal to those loyal to the Cadillac brand as well as anyone looking for a comfortable, luxurious feel to their ride without the higher cost of many other options in its class. The CT5 is built to provide a smooth ride as well as striking looks while delivering more advanced tech than even its higher-priced competitors.

What's New for 2024

Introduced in 2020 as the successor to Cadillac's CTS, the Cadillac CT5 enters 2024 with almost no changes compared to the previous year's model, other than some additional exterior paint options. However, we do know the CT5 will be fully redesigned in 2025, so keep an eye out for those details.

Real World Performance

While owners of the CT5 are satisfied with the car's finishes, it's the handling and performance that have owners raving, particularly when it comes to the optional 3.0-liter, V-6 twin-turbo engine with 335 horsepower available on the Premium Luxury model. Regardless of the engine, the CT5 seems to pack enough power for an over-the-road or about-town sedan. Its undeniably good looks are sure to attract buyers for a test drive. But its amazing array of safety and convenience tech, along with creature comforts like heated massaging seats, are likely to have potential owners astounded they can get so much for the price.

There's no denying that for well-heeled drivers who want a luxury high-performance sports car, it would be difficult to sell them on the 2024 Cadillac CT5 when the CT5 V-series is there in the wings. While it uses the same twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 engine found on the CT5 Premium Luxury model, the CT5-V is tuned to deliver a more robust 360 horsepower. Those who want the pinnacle of performance and luxury may even be able to count themselves among the few able to purchase a limited-quantity CT5-V Blackwing with a supercharged V8 delivering 668 horsepower.
